AP : 🇮🇳's retail Mecca⁉

The AP Govt. 🔈 the state's "Retail Policy"📝 earlier today - the first state in 🇮🇳 to do so❗ The policy offers flexibility in labour laws relating to working hours allowing enterprises to stay open through the week for extended hours of upto 15 hours a day✌ The AP Govt has also promised🙏 a single desk system for clearances😌 and said🔈 it will allot land to reatilers to setup warehouses. Also, in an unprecedented move, the policy📝 includes food and grocery retail enterprises under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) while also declaring distribution centres and warehouses of retail enterprises as "public utilities" under the Industrial Disputes Act😲 to prevent flash labour strikes✊. AP currently accounts for about 8% of 🇮🇳's retail market of 1.3cr stores and hopes to attract investment of ₹5,000cr 💰 by 2020😲 Mega retailers such as Walmart, Future Group, Spencer's and Arvind's have already committed to setting-up large stores in AP involving investment of about ₹1,500cr 💰 and are expected to provide at least 25,000 new jobs.

So, is AP set to become 🇮🇳's new shopping Mecca❓
