George Sipa Yankey, CEO of the Ghana National Gas Company⛽, stated that Thursday's nationwide blackout🌑 was due to a switch over of Volta River Authority( VRA)’s machines🔧 from light crude to gas. However, Ghana Grid Company’s🔌 (GRIDCO) has given a different view😏 on the matter. ECG💡 attributed the blackout🌑 to a total systems collapse and GRIDCo🔌 through the Power ministry also said it was due to a fault😁 in its transmission lines. “There was a fault😁 in transmission line and when it tripped, it tripped some of the units and this is how this happened." GRIDCo🔌 has assured that 90% of the power💡 has been restored. In related news, Atuabo⛽ has resumed operations and has been sending gas to VRA since yesterday.
