IMF Okays 💰 to Ghana🇬🇭

The IMF has given the green light on a 3⃣rd disbursement of $114.6 million💰 to help with Ghana’s 🇬🇭 economic recovery👍🏻. The financing💰 arrangement, would provide the country with more than $900m💰 over 3⃣ years. Joel Toujas-Bernate, IMF mission chief for Ghana🇬🇭, discussed Ghana’s economic challenges😁 and what could be done to tackle🔧 them. He attributes the country's economic woes📉 to macroeconomic policies, institutions and shock. He explained that the spike in the wage bill💰, increase in other spending and over-optimistic revenue💰 projections fronts the reasons why Ghana's economy is not where it should be😁. He suggested that Ghana🇬🇭 needs embark on certain measures👍🏻 in order to get things back on track:

🔸To restore macroeconomic stability

🔸Vigilant monetary policies to stabilize the cedi

🔸Embark on structural reforms to enable the economy to better absorb shocks

🔸Resolve energy crisis
