🇮🇳's Emissions Rise 40% in 🔟 Yrs.

🇮🇳 has submitted its first Biennial Update Report📄 (BUR) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 🌐 (UNFCC) which shows that greenhouse gas emissions💨 has risen📈 to 40% from 2000. In 2010 the gas emissions were equivalent to 2.13 bn tons of carbon dioxide🌑. The report by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest🌳 and Climate Change made under the NATCOM project that is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). There are 6⃣ greenhouse gases included in the report: CO2, Methane, Nitrous Oxide, Hydrofluorocarbons, Perfluorocarbons and Sulfur Hexafluoride. The energy⚡ sector accounted for the largest supplier of the emmissions @ 72% Agricultural🎑 processes contributed 18%, industry’s🏭 generated 8% and the waste sector💩 2%. India has pledged with others for taking measures to improve the intensity of emissions💨 by 2030.
