BoG💰 Maintains 26% Policy Rate❗

Dr Henry Kofi Wampah, the Governor of the 💵Bank of Ghana, has stated that its policy rate of 26% has been maintained✋🏻. He said that a slowdown📉 in inflation as a result of its tight monetary💰 policy stance influenced👍🏻 their decision. The monetary💰 policy committee of the central bank, have indicated that inflation is expected to hit👍🏻 the medium target band of about 12% this year and 8±2% by 2017, barring any unanticipated shocks⚡. As a condition of the IMF disbursement💰, the BoG is expected to tighten👍🏻 its monetary💰 policy if inflation does not go down⬇. However, the Governor👔 told journalists: “We are looking👀 at current conditions and we think that the conditions don’t demand an increase at this time👍🏻.”
