On Tuesday, after more than a month of political turmoil😰 and "constitutional breakdown", the Centre brought Arunachal Pradesh under President’s rule✊ and suspended⛔ the Assembly. The Congress✋, JD-U, CPI⚒ and AAP strongly opposed it and Congress spokesperson, Tom Vadakkan called it a “murder🔪” of democracy and accused the govt of "insulting" the Supreme Court🏤, which is right now hearing the matter. The Home Ministry made a statement saying that the Prez has signed✍ Proclamation under Article 356 (1) of the Constitution, imposing President's Rule in Arunachal. Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Home, said the cabinet it was because of a Constitutional breakdown as 6⃣ months had passed between two state Assembly sessions. Communist Party of India⚒ national secretary D Raja said, "We are shocked😨 and saddened. On 🇮🇳Republic Day, the President has given assent to the recommendation. He should have questioned the government on this. It is an irony that Modi✌ talks about cooperative federalism."
