On Thursday, US🇺🇸 ambassador, Richard Verma, said that the US and 🇮🇳 are continuing the pressure Pak🇵🇰 to crack down on terrorism☠ which is affecting the regional peace. He appreciated PM Modi’s✌ Lahore outreach but admitted that the US was still working with Pak on the issue of terror. He said, “We have to keep the pressure up, keep the leverage up work with moderate forces, work with Prime Minister Sharif and that's exactly the US🇺🇸 President has done, secretary (John) Kerry has done and we will continue to do it.” He explained that the US operates differently with Pak🇵🇰 and 🇮🇳, when asked why the US wasn’t pressuring Pak enough to crack down on terror. He explained that while India is expanding in counter terrorism🚫☠, Pak needed strengthening in their democracy. Verma added that there were no proposal on the table about a civil nuclear☢ deal between the US and Pak🇵🇰.
