On Sunday, The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued a directive stating that henceforth 2⃣ mins of silence🔇 will be observed at 11 am all throughout 🇮🇳, annually on 30 Jan, in memory of those who were martyred in India's freedom struggle✊. As per the MHA’s instructions, silence should be observed at work💼 and all movement should be stopped throughout 🇮🇳. The silence period🕓 will be from 11:00 am to 11:02 am (2⃣ mins). The beginning of the period will be indicated by the sounds of ‘sirens📢 or Army guns🔫’ from 10:59 am to 11:00 am (1⃣min) and from 11:02 am to 11:03 am (1⃣min). The MHA said that the public👥 didn’t adhere to the ‘solemnity of the occasion’ in the past and have gone about their business. They have ordered state governments and union territories to ensure that ‘Martyr's Day’💐 be observed with better public👥 participation.
