  |   India News

On Thursday night, a 37-foot-long (11.3m) Bryde's whale was washed ashore at Juhu beach, in Mumbai🌃. The whale was already dead before it floated towards the beach, as per forest🌳 officials. Makrand Ghodke assistant conservator of forests (mangrove cell) said, “This is one of the biggest whales🐋 to be seen in and around the coast of Mumbai🌃 in recent times. Last year, a 42-foot-long Blue whale🐋 was stranded live at Revdanda beach, 17km from Alibaug in Raigad district.” Ghodke said the exact cause of death was unknown, but tissue samples had been taken “for further research🔎.” Environmentalist expert D Stalin said, “I noticed a deep🔪 injury towards its tail fin, which is likely to have been caused by a fishing trawler⛴.” Stalin added that there needs to be supervision on the amount of marine traffic in the area. The whale will be buried near the beach. The whale has been capturing all of Bollywood's attention; even stars like Shilpa Shetty, who snapped the photo featured in this article
