Chris Gayle has been fined $10,000💸 by his Big Bash League team, Melbourne Renegades, following his controversial interview🎙 with Channel Ten reporter Mel McLaughlin👩🏻. Channel Ten, the broadcaster📺, also confirmed that Gayle would not be involved❌ in their coverage for the rest of the tournament🏆. Gayle had come in for sharp criticism from BBL Head Anthony Everard and Renegades' Chief Executive Stuart Coventry after he made the remarks💬 at McLaughlin during a dug out interview🎙. Coventry also extended an apology✋ to McLaughlin in a statement, stressing that Mel was an outstanding reporter🎙 and the club would ensure it's players work with her in a respectful manner henceforth👏. Incidentally, Gayle was also involved in a similar incident with a female reporter👩 during the Carribean Premier League in 2014.
