Yemeni inmates of the United States 🇺🇸 operated Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp will be freed 🔓 and given refugee status 🕊 by Ghana. The two former inmates will be monitored by National Security 👀 for the next two years.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs accepted the transfer request on humanitarian 🕊 grounds. The Ministry has also granted refugee status to Syrians with ties to Ghana. The Minister, Hannah Tetteh assured the public that the refugees and former inmates have been thoroughly screened and that thorough background checks ✅ have been performed so as not to pose a security threat to the country. She went on to assure that the move will cost 💰 taxpayers nothing, with the cost 💵 of reintegration of the Guantanamo Inmates being fully handled by the USA🇺🇸.
