Shouldn't 'overkill' day-night Tests - Lyon

Nathan Lyon has urged cricket to avoid "overkill" in its scheduling of day-night Tests, as Australia prepare for their second of back-to-back pink-ball Tests this summer.

Although there will likely be one day-night Test in next year's Ashes, Cricket Australia will push for two pink-ball Tests during other home summers, as has been the case this season.

But the ongoing success of day-night Test cricket will rest in large part on the quality of the play: in Adelaide last year, runs were hard to come by on a green pitch, but this summer batsmen found more opportunity to get set for a big innings.
