Cabinet Clears✅ G-Wave🌊 Observatory🔭

Union Cabinet has cleared a proposal to have a gravitational wave detector in 🇮🇳, days after a team of international scientists including Indians detected gravitational waves🌊 from deep space. Estimates suggest that the project will cost around ₹1200 Cr💰. The G-waves were detected first by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) — a system of detectors📶 in Washington and Louisiana. This will be known as LIGO-India project and will be helmed by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)☢ and Department of Science and Technology (DST). Research establishments have been lobbying😠 for a G-wave detector in 🇮🇳 since 2011.
