Indonesian authorities intend to request Facebook👤 and Whatsapp💬 to remove🚫 LGBT emoji and online stickers. Indonesia’s ministry of information said, “Social media must respect the culture and local wisdom of the country where they have [a] large numbers of users👥. Those things might be considered normal in some Western countries, while in Indonesia it's practically impossible❌.” Although homosexuality🌈 is legal✅ in the Muslim-majority country but same-sex relationships aren't welcome😤. After receiving complaints from users, Japanese messaging service LINE has apologised and removed its LGBT🌈 emoji from the app. Human rights groups have criticized Indonesia’s current anti-LGBT🌈 stance. In Jan, The Indonesian Minister for Higher Education🎓 Muhammad Nasir said that LGBT couples would be barred from university🏤 campuses if they show affection towards one another in 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩public👨‍❤💋‍👨. He said that there are “standards of values and morals to uphold.”
