AAP Opposes❌ Jaitley's Evidence📑 Against Kejri

  |   India News

AAP leaders objected✋ to the admissibility of printouts of evidence📑 filed by Arun Jaitley in a civil defamation suit against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. They claimed that the finance minister had neither submitted the certificate of section 65B(Admissibility of electronic records) of the Indian Evidence Act nor has filed an affidavit supporting the evidence😳. Advocate Pratibha M Singh, appearing for Jaitley argued that an affidavit has been furnished and that the AAP leaders are using stalling tactics😐. The counsel representing the AAP leaders contended that the affidavit provided was incomplete & the court cannot proceed without deciding the issue. The Joint Registrar fixed the issue for March 29th when it'll hear arguments from both parties.
Jaitley had filed a defamation suit seeking ₹10 crore in damages from Kejriwal & 5⃣other AAP leaders for allegedly false & defamatory statements against him in connection with the alleged corruption in DDCA🏏 when he was its president. The AAP has claimed that the lawsuit was "a classic instance of political vendetta"⚔.
