Dutch footballing legend and 3⃣ time Ballon d'Or winner Johan Cruyff has died at the age of 68 due to cancer😢. Widely considered as the greatest player🙌 from Europe to grace the game of football, Cruyff was known for his exploits😍 with Ajax and Barcelona and having developed the concept of 'Total Voetball⚽' (Total football) along with his coach Rinus Michels. He was the star⭐ of the Dutch national football team which reached the finals of the 1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cups🏆. Apart from his stellar playing career, Cruyff also managed Barcelona to 4⃣ consecutive La Liga titles between 1990 and 1994👏 apart from leading the Catalonian club to their 1⃣st ever Champions League triumph✌ in 1992. Earlier this year, Cruyff had remarked he felt he was "2-0 up in a match" against lung cancer and he was "sure he would end up winning"😯. But the deadly disease stuck its ugly head up again👎 to defeat Johan. The footballing fraternity has lost not just a great player but also a visionary😕.
The 'Cruyff turn' and the 'Cruyff phantom goal' will remain a poignant memory in the hearts of football fans😔.
RIP Johan ❗
