On 🝑 Maha Shivratri devotees observe the prescribed 🙏 ritual baths of the Shivalinga in Shiva temples. Devotees generally fast for the day, honouring 🙏 the Shivalinga with fruits🍏, flowers🌸 and bel leaves🌿. The mantra "Om Namah Shiva” is chanted, and devotees break their fast the next morning after a worship 🙏 that lasts throughout the night. Devotees believe that 🙏 ritual worship of Lord Shiva on the auspicious day of Shivaratri absolves them of past sins, blessing them with Moksha. Some devotees also perform the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra to seek🙏 divine blessings of Lord Shiva. It is believed that on this day, the planetary position in universe evokes the spiritual energies very easily.
