The Bombay High court have asked if the BCCI🏏 could shift the IPL matches scheduled to be played in Pune because of the water crisis💧 in Maharashtra. The Board was criticized for using a lot of water for maintaining pitches😠. The BCCI had suggested that it would procure treated sewage water for maintenance of pitches in Mumbai & Pune. BCCI counsel argued that instead of discharging treated sewage water to the sea they could use it for pitches🤔. A Public Interest Litigation was filed by NGO loksatta Movement challenging the use of water in stadiums at a time when the state is coping with drought😞. The court has also asked whether the BCCI could contribute💵 to the Chief Minister drought relief fund. Judges also had a googly in store for the BCCI when the board said it had supplied 40 lakh litres of water.
