Following the Shani Shingnapur Temple issue, the focus👁 has shifted to another famous shrine, the Sabarimala temple🙏 in Kerala, where there is a ban on women👩 of reproductive age. The Supreme Court said that there is no denomination in the Hindu religion as a "Hindu Male" or a "Hindu Female" and that "A Hindu is a Hindu". The court mentioned that denying⛔ women the right to worship could amount to violation of their constitutional right to equality. Both the Kerala government and the temple's trust have said that the traditional ban is in place because the deity is a 'Brahmachari' or celibate and that the presence of women who are capable of giving birth would hamper his "purity". So, they would like the ban to stay✋. However, the Supreme Court said that arguments based in ritual and traditions won't hold in the context of constitutional provisions.
