World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has announced📢 that it needs to carry out further research🔍 to establish how long meldonium remains in the blood stream of an athlete🏃. It also said that athletes who tested positive for the banned drug meldonium💊 may be able to have their bans reversed😯. As a result, samples from tests conducted before March 1 2016 and which contain less than one microgram of meldonium may be seen as permissible✅. 127 athletes were banned worldwide🌏 for using meldonium in 2016, most notably Maria Sharapova🎾. This change in stance by WADA might provide some relief😌 for the beleaguered Russian tennis star.
