Puducherry CM N Rangasamy, on Thursday, said that there was no❌ scope for total prohibition🚫🍾 in the Union Territory as it provided a major chunk of the union territory’s revenue💰. Puducherry’s assembly elections📥 are set for 16 May and political parties are pitching for total prohibition😕. All political parties in Tamil Nadu & Puducherry like DMK, PMK, AIADMK, People's Welfare Front-DMDK-TMC have promised🙏 either total or phased prohibition if elected. Several political manifestos📜 promise that families👨👩👧👦 with ration cards would be given 🆓 washing machines, set top boxes📺📻 and 'pure drinking water' free of cost at the rate of 2⃣cans per week. Regarding the plea for statehood for Puducherry, Rangasamy said that there was no change in the long-due⏰ demand and they are pressing👊 the Centre about it. Rangasamy said his AINRC party's manifesto📜 promises a balanced development for all 4⃣ regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam.
