On Thursday, an NGO called Swaraj Abhiyan accused😠 Chhattisgarh’s Raman Singh government of fraud and paying a 💲1.57 M 💰commission on the purchase of one AgustaWestland (AW) chopper in 2007. The deal is being probed🔎 to reveal who was partaking of it. Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav said💬, “The Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate are toys controlled by the central government. A former Supreme Court judge should be appointed to investigate the matter.” They said that the government met with the OSS chopper🚁 providers in India and later approached AW directly. The govt. sent a team👥 to negotiate the premium in Hong Kong, but failed after which they floated a “global tender” asking for suppliers who could provide the chopper🚁. Swaraj Abhiyan leader Prashant Bhushan asked💬, “No attempt was made to find out different manufacturers. There are at least 10 similar helicopter manufacturers who supply at cheaper rate than AgustaWestland. Why did the government favour it?”
