The National Investigation Agency🕵 filed a second supplementary charge sheet against the accused in the 2008 Malegon blasts💣 case. The NIA stated that sufficient evidence wasn't found against the 6⃣ accused in blasts that killed six persons and left 101 injured😢. A Final Report that states that prosecution against the 6⃣ isn't maintainable has been submitted. In April, the NIA had requested more time⏲ from a Mumbai court to file a charge sheet, even as the Attorney General refused to decide whether the agency should retain the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act in the case. Not a single charge sheet was filed even though the case was transferred to the agency in 2011, owing to the delay in the probe and multiple petitions questioning the applicability of the MCOCA by the main accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Col. Prasad Purohit. Purohit was absolved of all charges in April by the NIA.
