Movie📽 Reviews: Azhar, Dear Dad & More

  |   India News / Hollywood / Bollywood

Duta Rating ⭐️⭐️(2/5)

At the beginning, there is a disclaimer that the film isn't a biopic and is inspired from real life incidents. That's the first indication that the makers are playing it safe, as they somehow manage to turn it into an underdog story. Emran Hashmi⭐ compensates for the lack of resemblance by mimicking Azhar's quirky mannerisms (raised collar, backlift and swagger). The film fails to capture the drama and politics around the sport and plays out as a story of a fallen hero😟.

Dear Dad
Duta Rating ⭐️⭐️(2/5)

Tanuj Bhramar's debut is about a journey a dad takes with his adolescent son to break the news of an impending divorce due to his sexual preferences. Though it has an interesting plot, the film tries to be a dark comedy and an emotional roller-coaster at the same time. The lead actors (Arvind Swamy & Himanshu Sharma) have given commendable performances.

Buddha in a Traffic Jam
Duta Rating ⭐️⭐️(2/5)

The film is a political drama that follows the life of a management student whose high-minded principles attracts the attention of Naxals🔫. The story unfolding like a book adds value to the narration. The socialist ideologies are interesting but the film seems confused and doesn't seem to offer a solution to any of the issues it lists.

Money Monster

Duta Rating ⭐️⭐️(2/5)
A financial TV📺 host (George Clooney) and his producer (Julia Roberts) are put under pressure when an irate investor, after losing a fortune💰 following a bad tip from the host, holds the studio hostage😱 .
It is an edge of a seat thriller with quite a few twists. The actors give top-notch performances as expected but the cliche ending is a bit of a letdown.
