The India Meteorological Department📡 (IMD) has revealed that the monsoon over Kerala is likely to be delayed by 6⃣ days and should come around by 1 June. For the past 11 years, the monsoon forecast🔮 has been correct✅ (except in 2015) with an error margin of +/-4⃣ days. This is expected to delay monsoon in other parts of 🇮🇳 as well. IMD director general Laxman Singh Rathore said that the delay wasn’t unusual. However, he said that there would be some relief😓 to southern states from the intense heat as there could be some rainfall☔ in the coming days. He said💬, “Currently there is a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal which will become a depression and hit Tamil Nadu coast by tonight. This will bring good amount of rainfall to the state, parts of South Interior Karnataka and parts of Kerala.”
