Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar addressed📣 a group of ex-servicemen💂🏼 in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha to mark the second year of PM Modi’s✌ BJP🔸 Govt. He asked them to form “pressure groups”😡 to make sure that anti-national🚫🇮🇳 sentiments are challenged. He spoke about the JNU🏤 fracas in February, and said💬, “Everyone has the right to freedom of speech and to criticise whoever they wanted. But statements such as what was said with regards to motherland amount, not to freedom of speech, but treachery. No nationalist will tolerate an attack on the motherland.” He asked the ex-servicemen to monitor🕵 them and use social media💻 and to “seek peace from a position of strength, not weakness.”🤔 Parrikar also said that the recent 💯% FDI move in defence would not hurt the domestic manufacturers. He said that by the end of the BJP’s🔸 first term in power, defence imports shares were down from🔻 70% to 60% in 2⃣years. He said he would soon bring them down below 40%😯.
