The Met📡 department has announced📢 that the monsoon has arrived in Kerala on Wednesday – one day before its forecasted date on 7 June. However, it has been raining heavily in Kerala for more than a week, and private forecasters like Skymet📡 have declared that the monsoon began on 30th May. However, the previous rains are ‘pre monsoon’ showers🤔 as the Met has various criteria to examine🔎 before it declares the start of the monsoon☔. The Met has also predicted that this year, the rains will be 6⃣% more than the historical average of 89 cm & will also be evenly spread out in the country🇮🇳. The Met says that the monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of south Arabian Sea🌏, Maldives, Comorin area, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, & some parts of south interior Karnataka. It says that all of India🇮🇳 will be under the monsoon season by 15 July.
