Spanish pole-vaulter Didac Salas😯 had to go through a bitter experience😟 when he missed a chance to qualify for the Rio Olympics because an airlines✈ misplaced his pole. He had achieved a height of 5.5 metres👏 at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam on Sunday but needed another 10 cm to qualify👀. His last chance was a meet in Barcelona. Alas, the airline in which he travelled to Spain would misplace🙆 his pole and he could not achieve the required mark with a substitute pole👎. A dejected Salas said🔈, "I was able to use a friend’s poles, but it isn’t the same because it is very personal and I didn’t feel comfortable."
