An unbeaten ton💯 from captain Virat Kohli⭐ has helped India gain the upper hand💪 at close of play on day 1 of the first Test against West Indies. India won the toss and elected to bat first👍 at Antigua but were rocked very early when Murali Vijay was forced to fend Shannon Gabriel to slips😱 after a spell of hostile fast bowling. But Shikhar Dhawan (84), who had his doubters before the game, steadied the ship⚓ with a patient knock in the company of Pujara. Right after lunch, Pujara lost his concentration🙆 and top edged a rank short ball from leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo which brought Kohli to the crease😯. Dhawan, who crawled to his 50, soon changed gears as runs started to flow with ease💥. Both the batsmen were in imperious touch in the 2nd session before Bishoo trapped Dhawan in front with the score at 179/3😣. Rahane (22) gave his captain company before becoming Bishoo's 3rd victim. In a surprising move😳, India promoted Ashwin up the order, ahead of Wriddhiman Saha, and the move clicked👌. At close of play, India were 302/4, with Kohli (143) and Ashwin (22) on the crease.
