Surrogacy Bill📑 Cleared✅ by Cabinet

Surrogacy business in India🇮🇳 is estimated at ₹900 crore💰 and is regarded as a growing industry.
A draft bill to protect🛡 the rights of surrogate mothers👩 and make parentage of such children legal was approved👍 by the Union Cabinet. The draft Surrogacy Bill, 2016📑 that strives to regulate commissioning surrogacy in India was cleared by a Group of Ministers included Health Minister J P Nadda, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman & Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimat Kaur Badal. The need for protection of surrogate mothers from exploitation😞 even in rural & tribal areas is of utmost importance👌 and the government is looking to have a system in place to make parentage of children born out of surrogacy 'legal & transparent'. The bill👉 also proposes 'extra protection' through insurance👏 for surrogate mothers. However, the bill keeps surrogacy eligible only to those who are Indian🇮🇳, married💍 & infertile and bars🚫 gay🌈 couples.
