Day 3⃣ of the 1st Test belonged to South Africa🇿🇦 as they led⬆ by 388 runs at stumps with 4⃣ wickets in hand.
Dean Elgar & JP Duminy⭐ were the stars of the day, batting excellently and scoring centuries💯. It was a tough day😓 for the bowlers who were unable to trouble the batsmen with swing⚡ or spin💫 on a hot and humid day in Perth☀. The pair forged a partnership🙌 of 250 runs for the 3rd wicket and the stand was broken only just before the Tea break. In the 3rd session, Australia pulled things back with 3 important wickets👌. Elgar fell, playing a loose shot away from his body😟 and Temba Bavuma was guilty of smashing a long hop right down the throat of the fielder in the deep😳. Captain Faf du Plessis was undone by a lovely outswinger from Mitch Starc⚡. First Innings top scorer Quinton de Kock⭐ & Vernon Philander remained unbeaten at stumps.
The visitors will look to bat as long as possible⏱, in order to provide their depleted bowling attack more protection🛡. In spite of a hard day, Aussies will know that a good morning session🤔 could possibly swing the game their way.
