🇿🇦South Africa completed a comprehensive win🎉 over Australia by 177 runs just before Tea on the 5th day of the 1st Test.
Kagiso Rabada⚡ completed his 5-for in the 2⃣nd session . He trapped Mitch Marsh plumb in front☝ early in the day for his fourth. The speedster then gave Mitchell Starc a taste of his own medicine😏, crushing his toe with a quick yorker in front of the middle stump. Vernon Philander💫 got Siddle LBW and just when it looked like the game would be wrapped up soon, Nevill and Hazlewood showed some 💪resolve and put on a dogged 9⃣th wicket partnership that lasted 20 overs👏. For the first time in the game, the loss of a frontline bowler😫 showed as the Proteas brought on part-timers like Bavuma & Stephen Cook for short spells. Nevill scored a fighting half-century🎉 and remained unbeaten till the end. Temba Bavuma failed to hold on to two tough chances😖 that came his way to dismiss Hazelwood - one at short leg & the other of his own bowling. But he made amends by having Hazlewood caught at short cover and thereby claiming his maiden Test wicket. Keshav Maharaj picked up the final wicket of the innings (Nathan Lyon) to complete a memorable victory.
Earlier, Usman Khawaja missed out on a well-deserved century as he fell 3 runs short of the landmark before Lunch. Khawaja was determined to stake his claim for a spot in the Test team after his failures in the Sri Lanka tour and played a splendid innings . JP Duminy deceived the southpaw with a ball that skidded on to evade his bat and strike his pads in front of the stumps.
