Ancelotti: I wanted to keep Higuain at Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he wanted to keep Gonzalo Higuain at Real Madrid but was unable to persuade the striker to stay.

Higuain scored 107 goals in 190 league games for Madrid before leaving the club to join Napoli for €40 million in the summer of 2013 following the emergence of Karim Benzema.

He has since cemented his reputation as one of the world's finest forwards and signed for Juventus for an Italian-record €90m fee in July after breaking the single-season Serie A record for goals scored, netting 36 in 35 games during the 2015-16 campaign.
