Sturridge 24', Lallana 50', Cahill 61'
England made short work of neighbours Scotland and remained on top⬆ of Group F of the World Cup🏆 Qualifiers after 5⃣ games.
The 3 Lions🦁 doubled✌ their lead five minutes into the 2nd half when Adam Lallana⭐ directed his header from Danny Rose's cross, into the far corner. Confidence soared in the English ranks after the goal and they began to dominate👊 the game. Chances for Scotland were far and few -notably, Forrest forced a good save✋ from Joe Hart at the end of a swift⚡ counter. Just after the hour mark, 💪Gary Cahill scored the 3rd headed goal of the match to seal the victory🎉. The centre-back lost his marker and flicked in from the near post. After that, England were in cruise control😎, creating chances at will and seldom being challenged by the Scots. Raheem Sterling has always been found wanting when it comes to finishing😟 and he missed two glorious opportunities😖 tonight as well. Vardy came on for Sturridge and looked bright👌 in his cameo.
The 2nd half goals deflated Scotland and they lost their way. After their impressive win over Malta last time, they would've been hopeful🙏 of a draw if not a win today. England proved too strong for them and they sit precariously at the 5th spot in the group with just 4 points.
