Chinese investors bid for McLaren: Sky News report

An unidentified consortium of Chinese investors has made a £1.65 billion ($2.08 billion) takeover bid for McLaren with group head Ron Dennis seeking to stay in charge, reportedly.

Dennis's move has prompted the 69-year-old's fellow shareholders -- Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat and Saudi-born businessman Mansour Ojjeh -- "to launch a plot to oust him as chief executive".

He had apparently failed to secure a High Court injunction against a move to sideline him until his contract expired in mid-January, and an emergency board meeting had been convened for Friday.
