Australia🇦🇺 have made a decent enough start to the 2nd innings in their attempt save this Test match. At stumps on Day 3, the hosts trail by 120 runs with 8⃣ wickets in hand.
Earlier in the day, Quinton de Kock⭐ showed the Aussies what it felt like to be at the receiving end of an Adam Gilchrist-esque assault👊 with a brisk century💯. Temba Bavuma was happy to play second fiddle to the keeper-batsman and made a patient😇 half-century. Josh Hazelwood⚡ picked 6⃣ wickets in an innings for the second time in his career but not before the Proteas had amassed a first innings lead⬆ of 241 runs.
Australia's 2nd innings started pretty much like their first😖 as Kyle Abbott dismissed Joe Burns in the first over. However, Warner⭐ & Khawaja saw the new ball out and strung a 79-run partnership🙌. Abbott castled the Warner before the close of play, cramping the southpaw down the leg side with a short ball that ricocheted of Warner's elbow onto the stumps. Khawaja stroked his way to his 2nd half-century👏 of the series and remained unbeaten with captain Steven Smith when play was curtailed due to bad light.
