Forget Coachella: Tyler, the Creator’s Carnival Is Redefining Festival Style

The gathering of wily Los Angeles youth known as the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival arrived at Exposition Park this weekend for its fifth year running, showcasing a distinctly SoCal approach to street style.

Posing in front of ice cream trucks, rollercoaster rides, and walls painted with Tyler's signature eye-popping graphics, the crowd proved they were just as stylish as the artists on stage, and kept the casual California spirit alive under an unseasonably warm November sun.

Here, the young radicals show off their festival best, bobbing their heads in self-distressed T-shirts, boiler suits, hand-painted leather jackets, and brightly colored denim, Odd Future brand clothing, and modern takes on the classic stoner festival look that were, arguably, light years ahead of anything you'll see at Coachella.
