The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of ICC🏏 is planning to monitor players' WhatsApp and Snapchat📱 messages to curb match-fixing. Currently, the ACU can't request players to share their social media information. Information such as phone records is only shared by the players. Under the new power extension, suspected🤔 players will be asked to hand over their devices.
"As the world changes and as people use different means of communicating with each other through social media - WhatsApp, Snapchat, all of these things - we have to keep ahead of these things," Ronnie Flanagan, the head of the ACU, told🔈 reporters.
