As far as capitulations go, India have been in a league of their own in this Test🙆 and as far as batting against spin bowling is concerned, Australia have been in a league of their own in Pune.
After Steven Smith put on a masterclass in batting on a spitting👏 and turning pitch, India put on a masterclass in how not to bat on one. Evidently, they had not learnt their lessons😑 and the Indian batsmen played for turn rather than the line, ending up losing six wickets for 99 runs in this session☝. Vijay played for turn and was trapped by a straighter one, Kohli did the same and lost his off stump. Rahane failed to distinguish between prudence and recklessness😱 and ended up spooning a catch to cover. Ashwin showed why he might not be a No.6 Test batsman while Saha too failed to compel the audience, getting trapped on the stroke of tea🍵. In the middle of all this, Steve O'Keefe picked up another five-for, assuming the mantle of India's wrecker-in-chief🙌.
In short, Australia have given India a taste of their own medicine and exposed the fact that Indian batsmen themselves have lots to improve when playing spin. The result of this Test seems a foregone conclusion.
