Maraga Hires 92 ⚖Magistrates to Hear 🗳Poll-Related Cases

Chief Justice David Maraga has appointed a record 92 special magistrates to hear and determine cases related to election offences.

"A special magistrate shall, as far as practicable, hold the trials of offenders under this Act on a day-to-day basis until completion," Section 23 of the Elections Act states.

However, offenders could spend up to 10 years in jail, part with a fine of Sh10 million, or both, if convicted of hacking into the IEBC electoral database.
