In his address to the Lok Sabha after taking over as Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister two days ago, Yogi Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning an AIIMS center in Gorakhpur, which he has represented five times. Addressing the Parliament during the budget session, Adityanath also thanked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for breathing new life into the country’s economy. “The finance minister has renergised the economy,” he said. The chief minister also sought to assuage concerns of governance in the state saying his government will be for everyone, not specifically for any caste or community.
He took a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, when he said his coming in between the two leaders could be one of the reasons for their defeat in the recently concluded assembly elections in the state. “I am a year younger to Rahul and an year elder to Akhilesh. Me coming in between them could be one of the reasons for the loss,” he said.
