The Mumbai Indians🔵 juggernaut completed their 6th successive win by steamrolling Delhi Daredevils😈 this evening.
After their explosive💥 batting performance in the previous game, MI demonstrated their bowling prowess by defending a modest total in emphatic✨ fashion.
The Daredevils went into the game with 5⃣ seamers & 1⃣ spinner and this combination prompted them to decide to field first. The pacers hustled the Mumbai batsmen and forced them to commit mistakes. The home team never got going as wickets fell periodically. The trio of 💪Pollard & the Pandya brothers scored 67 crucial runs between them as Mumbai laboured😓 to a total of 142.
The Mumbai fast bowlers took the cue from their opponents and rattled👊 Delhi's top order. The Daredevils capitulated spectacularly, losing 6 wickets in the first 7 overs😱. Mitchell McClenaghan⚡ was the wrecker-in-chief, picking up 3/7 in his 2-over spell with the new ball. The young guns of Delhi couldn't cope with the pressure and followed one another to the dugout. When it looked like the hosts would wrap up the game in 10 overs, Kagiso Rabada & Chris Morris staged a fightback. The Protea pair added 91 runs for the 7th wicket👏 and gave their side an outside chance to sneak a win. However, the accurate Mumbai seamers returned at the death to prevent anything untoward from happening & saw the game off. The Daredevils ended their innings at 128/7 with the gritty Chris Morris unbeaten on 52.
