💪Rising Pune Supergiant completed a convincing win🎉 over Mumbai Indians🔵 yet again and booked a place in the IPL final👍.
The pitch at the Wankhede🏟 was sluggish during the first innings and the RPS batsmen had to work hard for their runs. This helped Rahane⭐, as he took time and patiently worked his way to a half-century. After losing Tripathi(0) & Smith(1) in the opening stages, Rahane(56) & Manoj Tiwary(59) resurrected the innings with a vital partnership🙌. Tiwary, who has been in good form throughout this series, scored his 2nd consecutive fifty👏. Going at just under 7 runs, it looked like the visitors would finish with a below par score. However, 😎MSD(40*) found his range in the final two overs and carted five sixes💥. RPS finished at 162/4 thanks largely to the 41-run assault off the last 12 deliveries.
Parthiv Patel opened the chase with some attractive😍 shots while his partner Lendl Simmons struggled to get going. A fortuitous runout provided the opening breakthrough - Shardhul Thakur's fingertips deflecting Parthiv's straight drive onto the stumps at the non-striker's end. In the next 3 overs, 17-year-old offspinner Washington Sundar💫, jolted MI with 3⃣ wickets. He dismissed Rohit, Pollard & Rayudu cheaply and had the opposition reeling at 51/4. As wickets tumbled, Parthiv continued to fight at the other end and notched his 2nd 50+ score of the season. Once he miscued Thakur's slower ball to long-off, the writing was on the wall. The famed MI batting line-up fell short by 20 runs.
RPS have made their way to their first ever final, with an exemplary all-round performance. MI still have a chance to bounce back as they'll play against the winner of the game between KKR & SRH.
