Trump is seeking opinions from Republicans as he decides on who will replace his Chief of Staff Reince Preibus.
According to a report on news website Axios, he is running it in true reality TV style.
The conversations are setting up a bake-off between the two men — at least in the minds of those whose opinions Trump is soliciting.
That's feeding uncertainty for his current chief, Reince Priebus, and everyone who works for him.
The leading contenders are current economic adviser Gary Cohn, and David Urban, Republican lobbyist.
