Zimbabwe have maintained their top spot in Group B of the COSAFA Cup 2017 after a goalless draw with Madagascar on Wednesday.
The match started off in a cagey fashion and there were very less chances to speak of in the early exchanges. However, Madagascar's Rinjala saw a fierce shot bounce off the crossbar in the 21st minute. Zimbabwe almost hit back soon after when Majarira saw his shot ruffle the side-netting rather than the goal.
In the second half, Zimbabwe came closest to breaking the deadlock when the Barea goalkeeper pulled off a sublime save to keep out Karuru's goalbound header.
There was drama at the end when Zimbabwe's Manuwire was brought down inside the penalty box, only for the referee to wave away the penalty appeals.
Ultimately, the game wound down to a tame draw as Madagascar remain second-placed in Group B.
