South Africa's Test captain Francois du Plessis could return to the side for their opener against England at Lord's on July 6. While Du Plessis was expected to miss the Test due to the birth of his child, his wife gave birth to the child on Thursday (June 29) and the player will now have time to return to England for the series opener.
"I'm pretty nervous, to be honest. It's now just a countdown for when the baby comes," du Plessis had said at the launch of CSA's Global T20 league. "My wife is pretty certain that she wants to go the normal route so that takes longer. It now becomes a race for the first Test match."
