The US Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) is looking at potentially resuming premium processing of H-1B visas as 'workloads' permit, the government department announced late last week.
In March, the USCIS announced that it would suspend fast processing of H-1B visas. The move was expected to affect Indian IT companies and required them to factor in a longer waiting time for employees that need to be sent onsite for critical projects.
"USCIS plans to resume premium processing of other H-1B petitions as workloads permit. We will make additional announcements with specific details related to when we will begin accepting premium processing for those petitions," the agency said in the statement.
