Ankle injury forces Andrie Steyn out of Women's World Cup

Andrie Steyn, the South Africa batter, has been ruled out of the ICC Women's World Cup after suffering an ankle injury during a training session. The ICC's Event Technical Committee approved Odine Kirsten as the replacement, it was confirmed on Thursday (July 6).

Kirsten, the 22-year-old, has played nine One-Day Internationals so far and has nine wickets to her name at an economy of just over four. She last played for South Africa on the Bangladesh tour in January this year.
