After being originally left out of the Test squad for the two-match series in Bangladesh, Australian selectors have picked left-arm spinner Stephen O'Keefe as an injury replacement for pacer Josh Hazlewood despite still being under suspension by Cricket New South Wales.
Hazlewood suffered a side strain on the third morning of series opener in Dhaka and walked off the field having bowled just seven balls into his spell. Later, the pacer was ruled out of the Test series and confirmed to be returning home.
O'Keefe's recall comes as a major surprise only weeks after being contentiously ignored for the series.
