Meru's Njuri Ncheke elders have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga to respect constitutional and independent commissions. The council on Monday said verbal attacks on the Judiciary and IEBC will not result in a solution to the political crisis in Kenya.

"President Kenyatta and the former prime minister also have to respect the will of 40 million Kenyan and the constitutional bodies," Murangiri said. The elder, who was accompanied by vice chairman Godfrey Mbuba, further urged Uhuru and Raila to embrace peace and avoid inciting their supporters.
